Foreigners working in Japan make substantial contributions to the Japanese Pension Plan. Depending on the length of time worked in Japan and the average monthly salary, foreigners can qualify for up to three years worth of pension contributions.

Foreigners who have already received their pension refund back are entitled to reclaim the 20% tax which the Japanese Social Insurance Agency deducted from the total amount of the pension reimbursement. Many foreigners are not aware of this and miss out on money that they are entitled to.

GETTING YOUR NATIONAL PENSION INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT
